Go Cubs Go!!

“Go Cubs go, go Cubs go, hey Chicago what do you say, the Cubs are gonna win today.”  If you don’t recognize that line, it is a song lyric from the late Steve Goodman.  With just 9 games left for the Cubs this season, they still sit in first place in the NL Central.  And today I’m heading up there with my dad so we can catch two games at Wrigley.  Can’t express in words how much I am looking forward to this.  Now if I could just finish packing.  Got to run!

Good to see your post about “Go, Cubs, Go” and Steve Goodman. He often doesn’t get his due. Thought you might be interested in an eight-year project of mine that has come to fruition — an 800-page biography of Goodman published in May, “Steve Goodman: Facing the Music.” The biography delves deeply into the origin of “Go, Cubs, Go.” (Did you know that it was commissioned after Goodman was banned from singing “A Dying Cub Fan’s Last Request” at Wrigley?) Please check my Internet site below for more info on the book. Just trying to spread the word. Feel free to do the same!
