Memorial Day

Tomorrow is Memorial Day – a day set aside to remember fallen U.S. soldiers – all those who perished while in the service of their country.

Many nations have a monument to unknown soldiers.  In the U.S., it is the “Tomb of the Unknowns” at Arlington National Cemetery.  For my friends in Brazil, it is the “Monument to the Pracinhas” in Rio de Janeiro.  In every corner of this planet countries pay tribute to those “Known But To God”.

Tomorrow we will remember all soldiers – known and unknown – who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.  Let us pray for peace.  Let us pray for the safe return of our troops.

And regardless of the tumultuous, perfidious and treacherous nature of american politics, the bottom line is our men and women are over there ensuring that all of us can always take comfort in the fact that our constitution and our bill of rights is unbreakable and unshaken by naysayers. Those Americans put their lives on the line so that we can wake up tomorrow and pursue our lives without an iron fist bearing down on our freedoms. Don’t forget their sacrifice and their service, and always let them know you appreciate everything they have done for us.
